![]() ![]() If the glyph is to be added to an existing text box, place the cursor where you want the glyph to appear and select the glyph you wish to add. Click on the glyph you would like to open in Silhouette Studio and it will appear in the work area. Hover over the glyph to view it in an enlarged view. ![]() With the Text tool open, click the second tab to view all available extra characters for the font. Delete any unwanted characters, if necessary. Place your cursor where you want the extra character to be placed. Double click in the text box to get the green box around the text. Type out the text and change the font style in the Text Style panel. In order to access the glyphs in Studio the font must first be installed on the computer and available in the Silhouette Studio Text Style list. Special characters or glyphs can be accessed directly in Silhouette Studio if 1) the font is PUA encoded and 2) the user has Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and is using Silhouette Studio Version 4.1 or higher. You will need to select if you want an internal or external offset instead of Cricut’s slider bar.Vector Art (T Shirts, Stickers, Transfers) I tried the same offset measurements that I used in Cricut Design Space. It does make my PNG gigantic initially, but it’s not a problem to shrink it down to size. I opened the same Love PNG file in Silhouette Studio. Cmd + /- to zoom in and out, Alt + Drag to copy and paste, Spacebar to pan around my canvas. Another Bonus that a lot of the Illustrator keyboard shortcuts also work in Silhouette Studio. But in the short time I’ve been using Silhouette Design Studio, it has been soooo much easier for me to achieve the offsets and cut lines that I want. Right out of the gate Silhouette Design Studio blows away Cricut Design Space. Nice try Cricut, maybe try adding a smoothing option to the offset dialog box. The offset probably works great for images with smooth edges and vectors, but that’s not always the kind of artwork I’m using. Let’s see how the Cricut offset feature does with those rough edges. But I don’t necessarily want the rough edges on my cut line. One of the things I love about watercolor are the rough little edges. To start, I uploaded a PNG file of a watercolor design I made using Procreate. That’s a real bummer for the sticker makers who want to do everything on their iPad or Android Tablet.
